IUI - Intrauterine Insemination
At Panama Fertility we offer a range of fertility treatments to help couples fulfill their dream of starting a family. One of these treatments is intrauterine insemination.
What is Intrauterine Insemination?
This can be performed during the female partner’s natural cycle at the time of ovulation or in a controlled cycle using medication to stimulate the ovaries.
This procedure helps to increase the chances of fertilization and pregnancy by bypassing any possible obstacles preventing the sperm from reaching the egg.

Artificial Insemination in 4 Steps
Ovarian Stimulation
Prior to the IUI procedure, the patient may be prescribed medication to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. This increases the chances of pregnancy by increasing the number of eggs available for fertilization.
Controls
During ovarian stimulation, the patient will undergo periodic check-ups to follow the development of the eggs. This follow-up may include ultrasound scans and blood tests to determine hormone levels.
Induction
When the eggs are mature, the patient will receive an injection that will induce ovulation. This injection helps to ensure that ovulation occurs at the optimal time for the Artificial Insemination procedure.
Insemination
It is a simple and painless procedure that only takes a few minutes. A small catheter is inserted through the cervix into the uterus, where the sperm is injected directly into the uterus. The sperm is washed and concentrated to increase the chances of fertilization.
